Exploration and Development of Mannar Basin, Sri Lanka
According to the Ministry of Petroleum Resources Development, plans have been formulated to move forward with a strategic oil and gas exploration and development plan. One of the key components of the plans is to commercialise natural gas discoveries in Block M2 of the Mannar Basin.
The government has now opened the Block M2 as part of a limited tender offer, to find a partner to appraise and develop the discovery of natural gas, as well as to explore for additional prospects, said the Petroleum Resources Development Secretariat.
