The local gem and jewelry industry is once again targeting to secure the top slot in the foreign market. Sri Lanka’s strong trade ties with many foreign countries have also helped expand the country’s gem and jewelry industry. The many trade agreements and trade concessions enjoyed by Sri Lanka with other countries have also helped the expansion of local businesses in the gem and jewellery industry. The promotional campaigns and event Luke FACETS also help promote the local industry among foreign businesses/investors. However, the overall growth in Sri Lanka’s gem and jewelry industry along with an expanding economy and many incentive schemes present a host of business/investment opportunities to foreign businesses/investors.
