The symposium features discussions on Sri Lanka’s advancements in digital payments infrastructure, with key decision-makers from destination management companies, tour operators, and financial institutions in attendance.
As Sri Lanka’s trusted payments infrastructure provider, LankaPay has been at the forefront of digital payment innovations, strengthening its global footprint through strategic partnerships with major international payment networks.

OSL take:
The overall expansion in Sri Lanka’s economic activities and the country’s target of becoming a regional hub have all expanded the ICT and digital infrastructure development sectors. An advanced digital economy is a prerequisite for an emerging business hub and Sri Lanka is currently on this path. The Sri Lankan government’s proposed digitization programme in order to transform the country into an e-economy has opened up a host of business/investment opportunities. The growth and profits recorded by local businesses engaged in the ICT and digital infrastructure development sectors as well as the interest shown by foreign businesses/investors to engage in these sectors in Sri Lanka are also clear indications of the growing business potential in these sectors and ancillary fields. Foreign businesses/investors could confidently explore the growing business/investment opportunities in Sri Lanka’s ICT and digital infrastructure development sectors while also looking at expanding operations through joint ventures or partnerships with local businesses.
