Sri Lanka’s Capital Trust Holdings launches ride hailing app while expanding into two wheeler taxis

Sri Lanka based Capital Trust Holdings has reportedly announced the launch of a ride-hailing application branded Taxiya, which will also expand into two wheeler taxis.
Taxiya will be run by Capital Trust Mobility Solutions (Pvt) Ltd.
“A two-wheeler (motorbike) service will be offered for the first time in the country, to navigate congested trafficsituations, particularly at peak times,” the firm has been quoted as saying in the local media.
Motorbike taxis are popular in congested Asian nations like Vietnam and also Bangkok.
“With over 1.1 million three wheelers, over 4.0 million motorcycles, over 0.7 million four-wheel vehicles in Sri Lanka and less than 50,000 active vehicles with Apps on a daily basis, there is immense room for expansion…,” Capital Trust Chairman Tushan Wickramasinghe has observed in a news release.
The firm has reportedly offered a corporate transport booking system, vacation planning and airports transfers.
