OSL take:
Sri Lanka is currently engaged in a path to strengthen and expand its existing trade ties with many foreign countries including with new destinations. These ties are expected to provide a further boost to the country’s trade sector with expansions in the manufacturing and exports industries. The increasing growth and business potential in Sri Lanka’s trade sector is evident by the interest shown by more foreign countries to explore business/investment opportunities in the sector. With Sri Lanka’s geographical positioning in the Indian Ocean, the strong trade ties enjoyed by Sri Lanka and the country’s target of becoming a hub in the South Asian region have all expanded business/investment opportunities in the country’s trade sector. All these are indicative of the lucrative nature of businesses in Sri Lanka, especially in the trade sector. Foreign businesses/investors could therefore confidently explore the expanding opportunities in Sri Lanka’s trade sector while also looking at expansion in the country through the formation of local collaborations.
