OSL take:
Sri Lanka’s fast-expanding digital industry has opened many business/investment opportunities in all key economic sectors in the country. With Sri Lanka targeting on becoming a hub in the South Asian region supported by its geographical positioning in the Indian Ocean and strong trade ties, the country’s digital industry as well as sectors connected to it have presented many business/investment opportunities that are yet to be tapped of its full potential. The growth and expansion recorded by many businesses already engaged in the country’s digital industry and connected sectors as well as the growing interest shown by foreign businesses/investors in entering the local industry indicate the increasing business potential in Sri Lanka’s digital industry. These opportunities will further expand with the Sri Lankan government’s focus on transforming the country into a digital economy and the aggressive digitization programme launched to achieve this target. Foreign businesses/investors should therefore explore the expanding business/investment opportunities in Sri Lanka’s digital industry and related sectors while also looking at expanding operations through local collaborations.
