OSL take:
Sri Lank’s strategic positioning in the Indian Ocean, strong trade ties with many foreign countries and the target of becoming a hub in the South Asian region have all increased the country’s attraction as an emerging business destination before the eyes of foreign businesses/investors. The country’s economic resilience during the economic crisis experienced a few years back and the ongoing economic activities have also resulted in the creation of a host of business/investment opportunities covering all key economic sectors in the country. It is in such a backdrop that a Japanese delegation like similar delegations of many other foreign countries who have been visiting Sri Lanka in the past few months, was exploring business/investment opportunities in the country. Local businesses could also use these opportunities to reach out to foreign businesses/investors to form partnerships or joint ventures with the aim of expanding operations locally and internationally. Given the growth and business potential in Sri Lanka and the many incentive schemes offered by local authorities to attract foreign investments to the country, foreign businesses/investors could confidently explore the expanding opportunities in the country.
