OSL take:
There has been an increase in air traffic between Sri Lanka and India that would further boost trade and bilateral ties between the two countries. Sri Lanka and India enjoy a free trade agreement and India continues to be Sri Lanka’s largest tourist source market. India is to also operate flights to the newly opened Palaly International Airport in Sri Lanka’s Northern Province. Given the close ties between the two countries, Indian business/investors could confidently explore investment opportunities in Sri Lanka. Also, other foreign businesses/investors looking at doing business with India could explore the possibility of setting up base in Sri Lanka to engage with India.
