OSL take:

Sri Lanka’s agriculture industry is fast becoming a hotspot for business/investment opportunities due to the fast growing demand and impending food crisis. The increasing opportunities in the country’s agriculture industry include the supply of seeds and fertiliser required for the industry, technical expertise, machinisation as well as the development of supplementary infrastructure facilities for the industry. Given the growth and business potential in Sri Lanka’s agriculture industry, foreign businesses/investors could confidently explore the expanding opportunities in the industry. The government of Sri Lanka has also introduced several incentive schemes including lands on long term lease for businesses engaged in the agriculture industry. On the other hand, the many trade agreements and concessions enjoyed by Sri Lanka could also help foreign businesses looking at crop exports.
