UK-based online tutorial service expands math service in Sri Lanka
UK-based Third Space Global that provides tutorial services online has expanded its services by opening a regional office in Colombo with plans to hire and train mathematics teachers to provide online math tuition to its customers.
According to the company it has “… worked with 16,000 children in 600 schools offering one-on-one tutoring.”
UK-born Roshan Nilaweera has Sri Lankan parentage and operates as the company’s CEO. He said that the company planned to create an additional 250 jobs within the next 24 months. This expansion will increase its existing 200-strong staff and further the company’s agenda.
The company staff demographic comprises of young individuals in their 20s, who have been initiated with thecompany’s teaching platform and have a good command over it.
Tom Hooper, founder of the UK-parent company officially declared open the Colombo regional office at the Orion City IT Park on September 13, 2017.

This venture has great potential in Sri Lanka which has a high demand for educational services. In addition to a growing IT sector the country also has an established “tuition” culture that can make a successful transition online and ensure that innovative investors reap the benefits of exploring such an option.
