Thai Air Asia to resume flights to Sri Lanka in July

Newswire: Thai Air Asia has announced the resumption of operations to Sri Lanka from 09th July 2023, the Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL) announced recently.
According to AASL, Thai Air Asia will resume operations on the popular Bangkok to Colombo route four times weekly.
The AASL stated that at present, BIA facilitates 18,000–19,000 passenger movements and 110-120 aircraft movements daily.
“AASL is happy to see the resumption of scheduled international flight operations by international airlines and contribute to the nation’s economy,” the AASL added.

The resumption of Thai Air Asia flights to Sri Lanka is in line with the overall increase in flights operated to Sri Lanka by international airlines. There has been an increase in the numbers of flights operated to Sri Lanka due to the overall increase in the arrival of foreign travelers to the country. This is indicative of the expansion in Sri Lanka’s economic activities as well as the tourism industry. The increase in flights operated to Sri Lanka is also indicative of the expansion in the country’s airport and aviation industry. The government of Sri Lanka is engaged in a programmed to further develop and expand the country’s airport network including the main Bandaranaike International Airport.
