Package 1B of PSSREIP – Procurement, Design, Supply and Installation of Grid Substations with CEB
The Power System Strengthening and Renewable Energy Integration Project (PSSREIP-1B) is a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing Sri Lanka’s power transmission infrastructure to support renewable energy integration and grid stability. Implemented by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), this project focuses on the development of high-voltage transmission substations at critical locations, including Homagama and Negombo. The project is structured to enable Sri Lanka to meet its increasing electricity demand while ensuring seamless integration of renewable energy sources, reducing dependance on fossil fuels, and improving overall energy security.
The project will be executed under International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures, with funding secured through a combination of government financing and international loans. The scope of work includes the design, procurement, supply, installation, and commissioning of advanced 132/33 kV grid substations in Homagama and Negombo, strengthening Sri Lanka’s electricity grid to support future energy demands.
