Package 1A – Power System Strengthening and Renewable Energy Integration Project (PSSREIP)
Construction of Mirigama 220kv switching station, Mirigama 220/33 kv grid substation and Peliyagoda 132/33 kv grid substation. The Power System Strengthening and Renewable Energy Integration Project (PSSREIP-1A) is a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing Sri Lanka’s power transmission infrastructure to support renewable energy integration and grid stability. Implemented by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), this project focuses on the development of high-voltage transmission substations and grid networks at critical locations, including Mirigama and Peliyagoda. The project is structured to enable Sri Lanka to meet its increasing electricity demand while ensuring seamless integration of renewable energy sources, reducing dependence on fossil fuels, and improving overall energy security.
