Development of Talaimannar – North Pier at Port of Mannar (EOI)
The Talaimannar-North Pier Development Project is an initiative by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) to enhance the Port of Mannar’s capacity as a regional hub for passenger and cargo handling activities. The project, to be executed under a Build- Operate-Transfer (BOT) model, invites investors to design, construct, and operate the North Pier, ultimately transferring the developed facility back to the SLPA after an agreed period. The scope includes constructing terminal buildings and necessary infrastructure to support the pier’s functionality. The project is part of a broader strategy to boost regional trade and connectivity. Interested parties are required to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) as part of the pre-qualification stage demonstrating financial strength and experience in port, cruise, ferry, or cargo operations.
