Sri Lanka’s tourism authorities hold promotion in Abu Dhabi titled “Taste of Abu Dhabi”

Sri Lanka Tourism Bureau (SLTPB) in collaboration with the Sri Lankan Embassy in Abu Dhabi has reportedly organised a Sri Lankan tourism promotion event titled “Taste of Abu Dhabi” at the du Arena, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi in the UAE recently.
The festival was officially opened by Ravinatha Aryasinghe, Secretary to Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majintha Jayesinghe, Ambassador, Embassy of Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi and other officials.
A traditional Sri Lankan dance troupe had performed at the event which the visitors had enjoyed to their hearts content.
“Taste of Abu Dhabi” had been a food-lover’s fantasy, with three days of Abu Dhabi’s latest, greatest and most exciting restaurants, world class chefs, an incredible line-up of music, tantalising fresh features and over 45 exhibitors. A wide variety of authentic cuisine identical to each country or region was served at this event.
Authentic Sri Lankan food were also served at the event which included coconut roti with lunumiris, kiribath , isso wada, kadala and egg rotti with seeni sambal , where the food was highly embraced by the visitors.
According to reports, taste festivals such as these have set a new benchmark for food and drink events worldwide.
It is important that the SLTPB engage in adequate consumer promotional activities among the expatriates (especially European and USA) Arabian travelers to make them aware about the destination – Sri Lanka – while also inspiring those who are planning new destinations.

OSL take:

Sri Lanka’s tourism authorities are engaged in carrying out many promotional programmes to uplift the country’s tourism industry in foreign markets. Sri Lanka continues to maintain the top slot as the destination of the year in several key global travel publications. The island’s tourism industry has been on a growth path for the past few years and has shown an impressive return to normalcy following the setback suffered in the Easter Sunday attacks in April. All these have resulted in the expansion of business/investment opportunities in Sri Lanka’s tourism industry.
