Sri Lanka’s Seylan Bank accorded “Special Recognition Award” by Wells Fargo Bank
Sri Lanka’s Seylan Bank PLC was reportedly accorded a “Special Recognition Award” by its USD correspondent Wells Fargo Bank, N.A, for the year 2018/2019.
The accolade was awarded for Seylan Bank’s operational excellence and efficiency in the global payment community consisting of Trade and Remittances, local media reports state.
As per Wells Fargo, Seylan Bank PLC is the only local bank in Sri Lanka to receive this award and this achievement is even more significant as the Bank has received the award for the third successive year.
According to reports, Wells Fargo is the ‘Most Valuable Banking Brand in North America for Retail Banking’ (2017) and ‘Third-Most Valuable Financial Services Brand in the World’ (2017) as recognized by Brand Finance and Forbes respectively. It has also been recognized as the Distinguished Provider for USD Global Transaction Services six years in a row, and also the number one bank in Overall Institutional Satisfaction among Global Financial Institutions (2018) rated by FImetrix Global Stats.
Rajaraman Subramaniam, Vice President, FIG Payment Services – South Asia, Wells Fargo Bank had presented the accolade and it was accepted by Director and CEO of Seylan Bank PLC Kapila Ariyaratne at a ceremony held recently.
