Sri Lanka’s HNB PLC conducts export awareness programme for SME customers

HNB PLC, which is one of Sri Lanka’s premiere private sector commercial banks, has reportedly conducted an export awareness programme to a group of select Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) customers at its Kandy Customer Service Centre.
Organised in partnership with the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), the workshop has reportedly drawn attendance from some of the Central Province’s most promising SMEs and had focused on supporting these businesses in identifying and leveraging on new export opportunities as a means of drastically expanding their earnings potential.
According to reports, the programme was also supported with the participation of EDB officials, officials of HNB Trade Services and Kingslog Logistics (Pvt) Ltd.
HNB, which is a pioneer of SME financing in Sri Lanka, has partnered with countless SMEs to prosperity and had graduated to corporate level.
The Bank offers a comprehensive range of products and services to SMEs, such as Term Loans, Working Capital Financing, Project Financing, Import and Export of Loan facilities and Distributor Financing.
HNB’s non- financial product offering consists of a host of value added products that transcends traditional banking services.
The value propositions offered by the bank includes: identification of potential markets for international trade, identification of buyers and sellers, E-Commerce solutions, ERP Solutions and an Equity funding platform for SMEs, local media reports have further stated.

Sri Lanka’s exports sector has been recording a continuous growth due to the many trade agreements as well as trade concessions enjoyed by the country. Foreign businesses/investors could therefore explore business opportunities in Sri Lanka’s exports sector.
