Sri Lanka’s DIMO launches power panel manufacturing plant in company’s logistics center
Sri Lanka’s Diesel and Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO), which is one of the country’s leading diversified companies, has reportedly launched its own power panel manufacturing plant in DIMO’s Logistics Centre.
DIMO had commenced manufacturing its own electrical power panels two years ago, mainly to cater the electrical projects secured by various divisions of the company and it has successfully achieved a stride by expanding its operations into the manufacturing of low voltage electrical panels, adhering to the highest international standards to cater to the local and international market, local media reports state.
According to reports, this venture includes providing electrical panel solutions for commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects and many more. Also, the product solutions provided consist of manufacturing, supply, installation and commissioning of high quality Power Distribution Panels, ATS/ AMF/ Changeover Panels, Power Factor Correction Capacitor Bank, Motor Control Panels and PLC based automated systems panels.
As another initiative to elevate the manufacturing industry of the nation, this new exciting business venture for DIMO expects to cater to the foreign clientele in the near future and are currently working with an ongoing Maldivian project, local media reports further state.
As of now, the company has succeeded in completing over 65 free standing panels and more than 350 wall mounting panels for major projects across the country.

Executive Director of DIMO, Wijith Pushpawela has said, “We are delighted to have introduced these power panels under the DIMO Lumin Brand name. As quality and standards are pivotal aspects in the power panel manufacturing industry, we will constantly invest in improving our products. Currently, our new facility can produce LV electrical panels up to 4500A from the 4b standard. We are extremely buoyant with this new venture and hope that it will contribute immensely to the manufacturing sector of Sri Lanka. DIMO is planning to achieve the target of 100 free standing panels and 500 wall mounting panels for this financial year.”
