Sri Lanka’s Colombo Port City kicks off global promotional campaign
Sri Lanka’s Port City project developers have reportedly commenced a global promotional campaign to attract foreign businesses and investors to the Port City.
The Port City project had even made its way to Times Square in New York City.
Following the implementation of the Colombo Port City Commission Economic Bill by Parliament and appointment of members to the Commission by Sri Lanka’s President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) has reportedly launched a global campaign of the venture.
The message currently being spread globally is – “Port City Colombo, Sri Lanka. The gateway to South Asia.”
The Colombo Port City project is aimed at taking Sri Lanka to the next level of development. Sri Lanka is engaged in an aggressive development programme aimed at helping the country place itself as a business hub in the South Asian region. The country’s geographical positioning in the Indian ocean and the many trade agreements as well as trade concessions enjoyed by Sri Lanka have also helped boost it as a potential business destination in the region. Given the economic expansion in Sri Lanka and the growing business/investment opportunities in the country, foreign businesses/investors could confidently explore opportunities in the island.
