Sri Lankan Minister says government to focus on people-centric development

Minister of Economic Reforms and Public Distribution in Sri Lanka, Dr. Harsha de Silva has reportedly said that people-centric development to create equal opportunities to all is the focus of the new government.
“The Government will refocus its attention towards people-centric development to create equal opportunities for the rising middle class, in order to ensure better living standards for future generations,” Dr.de Silva has stated after assuming office recently.
He has noted that it was an exciting opportunity for him, to build on the foundation that was laid to create a knowledge-based, competitive social market economy.
“I want to focus on the absolute necessities of the people to realise their dreams. I am looking at a longer vision, where I want to give hope for people, that we have a workable plan and models which have been benefited people. It is an amazing opportunity for me as a first-time Minister,” de Silva has been quoted as saying.
