Sri Lankan government and CCC organise Sri Lanka Investment and Business Conclave 2019

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) in association with several Sri Lankan ministries – Ministry of Development Strategies and International Trade, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry and Commerce – and the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI), Department of Commerce and Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) is to organize the “Sri Lanka Investment and Business Conclave 2019” under the theme ‘Explore: Network: Capitalise.’
The conclave is scheduled to be held on September 16, 2019 for the fourth consecutive year at the Shangri-La Hotel in Sri Lanka’s commercial capital, Colombo.
The local media has reported that the Sri Lanka Investment and Business Conclave 2019 would offer the perfect blend of opportunities aimed at enriching institutional, corporate and individual investors and business houses with a comprehensive set of guidelines for their investment decisions, and act as a networking opportunity for introductions to potential overseas business partners with a view of establishing partnerships/investments in Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lanka Investment and Business Conclave 2019 is to be inaugurated on September 16 followed by a presentation on “Sri Lanka’s evolving consumer market and investment opportunity for growth,” a panel discussion on Strategies for Growth – Foreign Direct Investment, National Export Strategy, Navigating the Operating Landscape including Regulations, Tax, Forex, Land, Foreign Investment Perspective and Public – Private Partnerships, a Presentation on Port City Colombo, B2B and G2B business matchmaking sessions followed by a Strategic Networking Event facilitating participants to directly network with Senior Ministers and Officials attached to various Government Institutions in addition to participants from various other countries.
Sri Lanka’s diplomatic missions located overseas, diplomatic missions in Sri Lanka and the 129 Chambers of Commerce, which the Ceylon Chamber has partnerships, International Trade Centre (ITC) Geneva, World Chambers Network Paris, Confederation of Asia Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI), the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Beijing Lansing Overlook International Exhibition Co. Ltd of China are also supporting the promotion of the Conclave across the globe, local media reports added.

The scheduled conclave will bring in to focus the many business/investment opportunities in Sri Lanka. Given the participation of all key state entities in the confab, participants would be able to build initial contacts as well as find out first hand the business/investment opportunities in Sri Lanka. The government of Sri Lanka is engaged in an aggressive development programme and the continuous progress in developing the ease of doing business environment in the country have expanded the business/investment opportunities in key economic sectors. The country’s geographical positioning in the Indian Ocean and the many trade agreements as well as trade concessions enjoyed by Sri Lanka have made the country a business hub in the South Asian region.
