Sri Lankan government to allocate Rs. 300 million to develop the Galle Face Green in Colombo

Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) has recently received approval from the Cabinet of Minister to allocate Rs. 300 million for the development work of the Galle Face Green in Colombo.
The Government Information Department stated that the money will be disbursed from the Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR) Budget of the SLPA for the year 2019/2021.
The development activities will be undertaken in several stages within a period of nearly 18 months and is a continuation of the SLPA’s development work at Galle face Green with its CSR funds under the approval of the Cabinet of Ministers in 2007. The government in 2007 had permited the SLPA to conduct the development programme along with its own funds and the funds of the National Budget.
The proposal was presented to the Cabinet of Ministers by Sri Lanka’s Minister of Ports and Shipping and Southern Development Sagala Ratnayake.

The programme also includes the upliftment and development of existing infrastructure facilities in the country. This also includes urban beautification.
