Sri Lanka Tourism holds major tourism promotion in Russia

Representatives of Sri Lanka tourism have this week held a discussion with Russian journalists and representatives of tourism organisations in a bid to promote Sri Lanka’s tourism industry.
An exhibition of photographs of Sri Lanka’s tourist destinations was also held as part of the programme to promote the island as an attractive tourist destination.
A similar tourism promotion programme is also being implemented in Ukraine.
These programmes are part of a number of tourism promotion initiatives that are currently taking place under the guidance of Sri Lanka’s Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga to promote the country’s tourism industry.
Several discussions have been organised between the heads of the tourism industries in these countries and the Minister Ranatunga.
Russia and Ukraine have recently ranked among the top 10 countries in terms of tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka’s tourism authorities are engaged in an aggressive promotional campaign to boost the country’s tourism industry. The country has been recording a steady growth in tourist arrivals since the beginning of this year when the country’s borders were reopened. With Sri Lanka building as a business destination in the South Asian region and the island being listed as a must visit destination by several leading global travel publications, business/investment opportunities in Sri Lanka’s tourism industry is continuing to expand.
