Sri Lanka to construct water supply system in the Northern city of Jaffna

The government of Sri Lanka is to sign a contract to construct a water supply system and pipe laying in the urban areas of Sri Lanka’s northern city of Jaffna.
Sri Lanka’s Cabinet of Ministers had granted approval for the proposals tabled by the country’s Minister of Water Supply Vasudeva Nanayakkara to award the contract for the construction of water supplying systems and pipe laying in the Jaffna urban area. 
According to reports, this project is one of the components of the Jaffna-Kilinochchi Water Supply and Sanitation Project and was awarded to India’s M/S National Contracting Company (NCC) for a sum of Rs. 3,160.20 million (including VAT) on the recommendations made by the standing committee on procurement appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers.
