Sri Lanka looking at a US$ 250 million equivalent Panda bond in China in 2018
Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Indrajit Coomaraswamy has reportedly stated that the country is planning a US$ 250 million equivalent Panda (Yuan denominated) bond in China in 2018.
The Governor has said that Sri Lanka had already gone on a non-deal road show and seen interest among banks and insurers.
The People’s Bank of China has reportedly set up a task force to help Sri Lanka raise a Panda bond.
According to reports, Sri Lanka has is also raising another 1.0 billion from a syndicated loan from China Development Bank.
