Sri Lanka and Iran signs deal to further strengthen bilateral trade and economic cooperation

Iran and Sri Lanka have reportedly entered into an agreement on boosting cooperation between the two countries in the areas of trade and economy.
Media reports state that the agreements were signed following a two-day visit by an Iranian delegation to Colombo recently.
Iran and Sri Lanka have also agreed to finalise the drafts of several cooperation documents in the areas of health, cooperation, agriculture, cultural exchanges and customs.
The delegation to Sri Lanka was headed by the Iranian Energy Ministry official Hamid Reza Tashaoei and discussed ways for expanding cooperation and further strengthening the existing agreements.

OSL take:

The signing of the agreement between Sri Lanka and Iran would result in a boost in relations between the two countries mainly in the sphere of trade and economy.
