Sri Lanka Institute of Architects to hold ‘Architect 2020’ to portray the country’s art of architecture

Sri Lanka Institute of Architects (SLIA) has reportedly made arrangements to hold the ‘Architect 2020’ trade exhibition for the 38th consecutive year at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) from February 20 – 23, 2020.
According to local media reports, the members’ work and trade exhibition would be opened to the general public from 10 am to 10 pm, providing the ultimate experience with more than 300 trade stalls and 150 architects displaying panels including digital panels displaying architects’ work.
The inauguration ceremony of the annual sessions of 2020 is to be held on February 19, 2020, at 3 p.m. with the participation of Sri Lanka’s President Gotabaya Rajapaksa as chief guest and Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa as the guest of honour.
Members of the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects, members of other architectural institutions in the region, foreign guests, special invitees and students from the architecture field would also be present at the inauguration ceremony.
Local media reports have noted that the national conference would be held on February 20, 2020, under the theme ‘The Art of Architecture.’
The SLIA National Conference – 2020, is reportedly the most suitable forum for an open discussion of the art of architecture.
Also, the exhibition would comprise a dynamic and digital walk through of architectural projects, panels with architectural models.
A special live interface forum has been arranged where chartered architects could meet the public through interesting presentations and a special live forum has been arranged for the public to meet chartered architects and view their project presentations.
Visitors could explore, surf and locate services, materials, information of all products displayed, the extensive resources and skills locally available, innovative quality architectural designs and high-quality construction projects through to Architect 2020.
