Sri Lanka being considered to host Miss World pageant in 2020 or 2021
Key officials of the Miss World Organization, including the reigning Miss World, had reportedly arrived in Sri Lanka on the 30th of September on an exploration visit of the island.
According to local media reports, the high-profile delegation is looking at the possibility of selecting Sri Lanka as the host nation for the world-renowned pageant in 2020 or 2021.
The delegation had reportedly made a courtesy call on Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs Minister John Amaratunga at his ministry office on Monday (October 1st).
Minister Amaratunga has then made a presentation to Miss World Organization Chairperson Julia Evelyn Morley and the reigning Miss World Manushi Chhillar, Miss World 2016 and Miss World Brand Ambassador Stephanie Marie Del Valle Diaz.
Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau Chairman Dehan Seneviratne had also been present at the occasion.
