SLASSCOM’s Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence onboards South Asian Technologies as strategic partner.
Daily FT: The Sri Lanka Association of Software and Services Companies (SLASSCOM) Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence (CSCx) launched with the aim of positioning Sri Lanka as the Global Cybersecurity Hub, onboards South Asian Technologies Ltd. as its exclusive strategic partner in supporting the efforts and projects initiated by the Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence for the year.
In line with the partnership agreement, SLASSCOM and South Asian Technologies will now collaborate to work on creating a highly competent talent pool of cybersecurity experts by laying the groundwork and working closely with government and private universities to offer recognised cybersecurity qualifications in the country.
SLASSCOM which has been forging ahead as the catalyst of growth for the Sri Lankan IT/BPM industry, believes CSCx can play a dominant role towards achieving a significant contribution in export revenue for the industry by 2025, while looking at producing more than 10,000 cybersecurity professionals to cater to the global demand for cybersecurity products and services.

Ultimately, SLASSCOM’s CSCx intends to leverage the Sri Lankan talent to set a benchmark in the cybersecurity industry, which will also pave the way to contribute towards policy making at a national level to elevate Sri Lanka’s cybersecurity ranking to be among the top nations in the world.
