Regen Renewables signs up with Jay Jay Mills Group for third time to solarise factories

Daily FT: Regen Renewables Ltd., a leading provider of sustainable energy solutions, has announced the signing of a landmark contract with Jay Jay Mills Group to commission state-of-the-art Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems across their facilities. This multimillion-dollar partnership marks a major milestone in advancing sustainable industrial practices in the country and demonstrates both commitment to environmental responsibility and carbon neutrality progression.
As part of the agreement, Regen Renewables will design, supply, and install customised Solar PV Systems specifically tailored to meet the energy requirements of Jay Jay Mills Group’s operations. This collaborative project aligns with global efforts to reduce carbon footprints and transition to renewable energy sources, positioning both companies as leaders in driving sustainability within their industries.
Regen Renewables CEO Dr. Lakmal Fernando expressed his enthusiasm about the project: “We are thrilled to partner with Jay Jay Mills Group on this ambitious initiative. This collaboration not only supports their operational goals but also underscores their commitment to sustainable growth and environmental stewardship. At Regen Renewables, we are focused on providing innovative solutions that make clean energy both accessible and impactful for businesses. This is the third time JJM Group has signed up with Regen for a solar PV project.”
The project will leverage cutting-edge solar technologies from Regen’s partner company, Das Solar with its latest N Type bifacial modules, ensuring maximum efficiency and reliability. With the installation of 4.2 MW of solar power, Jay Jay Mills Group is set to achieve a significant reduction in energy costs and a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 3,793 metric tons of CO₂ annually. This system will also enhance energy security and independence for Jay Jay Mills Group, further reinforcing their commitment to sustainability.
Jay Jay Mills Group Managing Director Srikumar Balasubramaniam highlighted the importance of the partnership saying, “Partnering with Regen Renewables reflects our vision of integrating sustainability into our core operations. This project is a key step in reducing our carbon emissions and contributing to a cleaner, greener future for our industry. We have used Regens’ services twice in the past and are very happy to partner with them for the third time to complete our largest RE initiative thus far.”

Sri Lanka’s power and energy industry, especially the renewable energy generation sector, has become a hotspot for business/investment opportunities. The Sri Lankan government’s commitment to increase the country’s renewable energy component in the total power mix has expanded opportunities in the renewable energy sector. The growth, profits and expansion of local businesses engaged in the renewable energy sector are indicative of the growing business potential in the sector. Also, the interest shown by foreign businesses/investors to enter Sri Lanka’s renewable energy business is further indicative of the increasing business potential in the sector. With Sri Lanka targeting on becoming a hub in the South Asian region, the increasing demand for power has presented new business/investment opportunities with both state and private sectors along with businesses in all key economic sectors turning to renewable energy generation.
