Pakistan to set up dairy farm in Sri Lanka’s North Central Province
Pakistan has reportedly looking at launching a feasibility study on a dairy farm in Sri Lanka’s Polonnaruwa district, in the North Central Province of the island, High Commissioner Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has been quoted as saying in the media.
High Commissioner Abbasi had reportedly told President Maithripala Sirisena that a high level expert team would arrive in Sri Lanka to carry out a feasibility study, during a meeting on January 4th.
Polonnaruwa is President Sirisena’s home constituency.
Pakistan is also helping Sri Lanka with fertilizer after a government procurement had delayed supplies for the current cultivation season.
Pakistan had also provided Sri Lanka with a US$ 200 million credit line, the High Commission of Pakistan has stated.
Pakistan has pledged to develop bilateral and trade relations with Sri Lanka.

Pakistan has pledged to support Sri Lanka’s dairy industry while pledging to develop overall trade and bilateral relations. Given the foreign assistance pledged to uplift Sri Lanka’s dairy industry, interested investors could look at investing in the local dairy sector.
