Nepalese business tycoon discusses investment opportunities with Sri Lanka’s BOI.
Ada Derana: Nepalese billionaire Binod Chaudhary recently paid an official visit to the Board of Investment (BOI) and held discussions on potential investment opportunities.
During the discussions with BOI Chairman Dinesh Weerakkody, Chaudhary focused his business interests on distribution, retail, leisure, financial services and manufacturing
The business tycoon was also briefed about the progress on the infrastructure development in the Port City, with special emphasis on the Colombo International Financial City.
He was accompanied by CG Corp Global Managing Director Rahul Chaudhary as well.
Binod Chaudhary, the chairman of the Chaudhary Group based in Nepal has been listed on the prestigious Forbes Billionaires List since 2013.
Sri Lanka’s economic resilience and the expansion of key economic sectors despite facing an economic crisis have attracted the attention of many foreign businesses/investors to explore opportunities in the country. The country’s geographical positioning in the Indian Ocean and the many trade agreements as well as trade concessions enjoyed by the country have also helped boost Sri Lanka as an emerging business destination in the region. The growth and profits recorded by the country’s private sector are also confidence boosters for Sri Lanka as an emerging business destination in the South Asian region. Foreign businesses/investors could therefore explore the business potential in Sri Lanka.
