LOT Polish Airlines commence direct flights to Sri Lanka increasing tourist flow

Sri Lankan Embassy in Oslo together with LOT Polish Airlines has reportedly celebrated the commencement of LOT’s direct flights from Warsaw to Colombo.
LOT Polish is to fly seasonally three times a week from November to March by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, the local media has reported.
The event held to mark the commencement of flights between Poland and Sri Lanka was attended by diplomats, corporate partners, members of the travel industry and social influencers from the two countries.
The Ambassador of Sri Lanka Arusha Cooray had mentioned that this reinforced the strong and enduring relationship, between Sri Lanka and Poland, which spanned over 60 years.
She has further noted that the introduction of this direct route was expected to increase the flow of tourists and business passengers, and strengthen economic cooperation including trade, investment, finance, educational and cultural linkages between Sri Lanka and Poland.
Meanwhile, the Ambassador for Poland Iwona Woicka-Zulowska has stated that the launch of this flight would lead to an increased flow of tourists to Sri Lanka from Poland and hoped that it would lead to an increased flow of passengers from Sri Lanka to Poland as well.
Sales Manager for PLOT Gonen Butel had given a presentation highlighting the advantages of LOT, the direct route, and flights from Oslo to Colombo on this route.

The commencement of direct flights between Poland and Sri Lanka is indicative of the recognition of Sri Lanka as a potential business destination by LOT Polish Airlines. On the other hand, the flights would increase the tourist flow in to Sri Lanka as well. All these indicate the growing business potential in Sri Lanka. The country’s geographical positioning in the Indian Ocean, the ease of doing business environment in the country and the many trade agreements as well as trade concessions enjoyed by the country have made it an attractive business destination in South Asia.
