Agri-Tech & Food Processing
Sri Lanka promotes value-added agriculture, food processing, cold-chain logistics, aquaculture, spices, coconut-based products, and agri-technology. The BOI lists Food Processing as a priority sector and highlights agriculture and agro-processing as investment areas.
Agriculture contributes about 7–8% of GDP, uses about 42% of land, and employs about 27% of the national workforce, according to the BOI’s Ready to Invest platform.
