The ‘City of Dreams Sri Lanka’ project, once all components are in full operation, is expected to generate over 20,000 direct and indirect employment and community engagement opportunities.
This development is part of the Group’s broader strategy to position Sri Lanka as a leader in the regional and global marketplace.
OSL take:
The unveiling of Cinnamon Life is a clear indication of Sri Lanka’s growth and business potential given the overall economic expansion experienced by the country after facing the brunt of an economic crisis. The strength, resilience and growth of Sri Lanka’s economy after facing an economic crisis in the past few years stands testament to the fact that the country presents an ideal business destination in the South Asian region. The country’s strategic position in the Indian Ocean, the strong trade ties and the target of becoming a regional hub have all boosted Sri Lanka’s image as an emerging business/investment destination in South Asia. All these developments have also resulted in the overall expansion of business/investment opportunities in all key economic sectors in the country. However, the ongoing expansion in Sri Lanka has also caught the attention of foreign businesses/investors who are continuing to explore the opportunities in the country and engaging with the authorities. They are also looking at possibilities of forming partnerships or joint ventures with local businesses with the aim of further expanding operations locally and internationally.
