OSL take:
With Sri Lanka targeting on achieving hub status in the South Asian region, the country’s development programmes present a host of business/investment opportunities to foreign businesses/investors. The ongoing economic activities and the overall economic expansion have all managed to boost confidence among foreign businesses/investors as well as bilateral and multilateral donors to engage with Sri Lanka on its path to becoming an emerging business/investment destination in the region. It is in such a backdrop that Japan’s JICA is looking at resuming two key development projects in the country. JICA’s decision has opened up opportunities for foreign businesses that are exploring ways to do business in Sri Lanka. Thes opportunities range from direct and indirect businesses as well as range from the development of infrastructure and supplementary infrastructure facilities. Given the growth and business potential in Sri Lanka, foreign businesses/investors could explore the expanding business/investment opportunities covering all key economic sectors in the country.
