The campus is located at the SLT Satellite Station in Padukka, on a 35 acre property. The campus also has all required facilities including laboratories, classrooms, auditorium and library. The administrative office and the city campus are based at TRACE expert city in Maradana.

OSL Take:

Sri Lanka Technological Campus being a fully owned subsidiary of Sri Lanka Telecom PLC embarks to fulfil the National need of expanding the provision of higher education in Sri Lanka by conducting quality undergraduate and post graduate degree programmes including programmes of globally reputed and high ranked universities.

SLTC as a new initiative helps expand the much needed University-Industry collaboration.

The investment from SLT is not solely monetary but the organization has also allocated its infrastructure to realize the full potential of this endeavor.

As such, SLT has allocated its presently unutilized Satellite Earth Station premises in Padukka which consists of a state-of-the-art auditorium and facilities which can presently accommodate 300 students in a comfortable environment located on a sprawling 35 acre property.

In addition to the fully fledged campus facilities at Padukka which will conduct academic studies and have facilities for industrial research, SLTC will have a city office at the TRACE Expert City (Formally Tripoli Market), Maradana; in order to conduct professional courses, certifications and training and administrative operations such as student registrations for the campus.

Higher education sector is one of the most powerful sectors of education in Sri Lanka and it will inspire the country’s value, ethics and social institutions so that Sri Lanka becomes celebrated as an enlightened and peaceful multi-ethic, multi-religious and multi-cultural society.

Under the Western Region Megapolis Master Plan, it is envisaged to establish “Industrial Cities” in Horana and Mirigama, create a Science and Technology city in Malabe, set up a Plantation City in Avissawella, modernise the public bus transport system, build more expressways, initiate an electric train service and launch transport services using the internal network of canals and waterways.

The Western Region Megapolis Development Plan (WRMM) is a long-term, 15-year project.

The ultimate goal of this initiative is to work concertedly towards enhancing the per capita income of the people of the Western Province, provide housing facilities to the growing population, improve lives and livelihoods and generate more viable employment opportunities.

Within this grand WRMM plan to transform Colombo in to a Smart City, education is given the “highest priority and funding” by the unity government to empower the youth to carry the transformative mission in to the next millennia.

For any overseas investor planning to open manufacturing facilities in the proposed industrial cities, the availability of disciplined highly-skilled workforce is of primal importance, and OSL is ready to assist such investment projects with our local expertise and strong links.
