OSL take:

Sri Lanka’s expanding economy, strong and improving trade ties as well as the country’s strategic positioning in the Indian Ocean have all helped boost the logistics sector. With Sri Lanka’s aviation and maritime industries recording steady growth, there is a need to expand the country’s logistics sector. This expansion, which is to meet the increasing demand and the need to be on par with the evolving global logistics standards, has opened a host of business/investment opportunities for foreign businesses/investors. The growth and profits recorded by businesses already engaged in the sector and the interest shown by foreign businesses to enter Sri Lanka through local collaborations indicate the increasing business potential of Sri Lanka’s logistics industry and related sectors. Given that Sri Lanka is working on becoming a regional hub, foreign businesses/investors could confidently explore and enter the country’s logistics industry at present to ensure the best positioning and consolidate the position for future progress.
