OSL take:

The commencement of flights by India’s Alliance Airlines will result in the expansion of business and investment ties between the two countries. Alliance Airlines is to fly to Sri Lanka’s northern Palaly Airport resulting in a boost in tourism and trade. Sri Lanka’s geographical positioning in the Indian Ocean and the ease of doing business environment in the country and the many trade agreements as well as the trade concessions enjoyed by the country have made it an attractive business destination in the South Asian region. Also, Sri Lanka and India enjoy strong bilateral and trade ties that have been further strengthened by the free trade agreement (FTA). Foreign businesses/investors while exploring business/investment opportunities in Sri Lanka could also look at setting up base in Sri Lanka to engage with India.
