OSL take:
The increasing number of flights being operated to Sri Lanka by international airlines is a clear indication of the steady growth in the arrival of foreign travelers to the country including tourists and foreign business travelers. The growth in the arrival of foreign travelers to the country is indicative of the increasing business/investment opportunities in several key economic sectors – tourism as well as airport and aviation industries. The increasing number of arrivals indicates the need for the development of infrastructure and supplementary infrastructure facilities required to accommodate the flight arrivals and the travelers. It has further expanded business/investment opportunities in the country’s tourism industry, especially in the leisure and hospitality sectors. The increasing business potential in Sri Lanka, especially in the tourism as well as airport and aviation industries, is evident in the interest shown by foreign businesses in entering these industries. With Sri Lanka working towards becoming a regional hub supported by the ongoing economic activities, the business/investment opportunities in many industries would be on an expansion path therefore providing lucrative opportunities to foreign businesses/investors.
