OSL take:

Sri Lanka’s attraction as a MICE destination has been on the increase since the past few years. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is to hold its annual general meeting in Sri Lanka next year. This would attact a large number of foreign participants to the country while also increasing Sri Lanka’s attraction as a MICE destination in the South Asian region. Sri Lanka has also recorded an overall growth in the tourism industry with a steady increase in tourist arrivals to the country and many international hospitality brands showing interest in entering Sri Lanka’s tourism industry. Given Sri Lanka’s growth in the tourism industry and the growing attraction as a MICE destination, foreign businesses/investors could explore the growing business potential in Sri Lanka.
