German based BMW agent in Sri Lanka sees brand growth opportunities in the country
The agent for Germany-based BMW in Sri Lanka, Prestige Automobile (Pvt) Limited, has reportedly said the brand sees growth opportunities in Sri Lanka.
Expressing his appreciation of the long-standing relationship with Prestige Automobiles (Pvt) Ltd, Christopher Wehner, Managing Director of BMW Group Asia has been quoted as saying in the local media, “Sri Lanka is a fast-growing market with immense potential.
“Therefore, we are delighted to continue our successful collaboration with Prestige Automobile to further strengthen the brand’s presence in the country.”
Prestige Automobiles, which has held the agency for 24 years has stated that it had set up a service and repair centre using tools and software certified by BMW.
BMW Group Asia is planning to release several special edition cars to the local market to market 25 years of the agency, Prestige Automobiles has said.

The statement by German’s BMW of the brand growth opportunities in Sri Lanka is indicative of the growing business potential in Sri Lanka’s automobile industry. Foreign automobile companies could explore business opportunities in Sri Lanka’s automobile industry and even look at forming partnerships/joint ventures with local companies to set up vehicle assembly plants in the island.
