FCCISL meets EU representatives to discuss revival of tourism industry

The Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sri Lanka (FCCISL) has reportedly met with officials at the EU Mission in Colombo to discuss the revival of Sri Lanka’s tourism industry.
The delegation of the FCCISL led by Secretary General/CEO of the Chamber, Ajith D. Perera has met the EU officials with a view to commence tourist activities in Sri Lanka which was paralyzed due to the Covid 19 global pandemic.
The cordial discussion has focused on how best tourism can be given a new life.
During the meetings, the Chamber had requested the EU representatives to assist in the revival of the rural tourism sector by focusing on the Small and Medium Enterprises in tourism sector in the country.

Sri Lankan authorities are currently engaged in reviving the country’s tourism industry following the post Covid 19 closure. Sri Lanka’s tourism industry possesses massive business potential due to the space for expansion. Also, The country’s tourism industry was one of the highest revenue generating sector. The interest shown by leading international brands to enter Sri Lanka has resulted in an increase in business/investment opportunities in Sri Lanka.
