OSL take:

The resumption of Belavia’s direct flights between Minsk and Sri Lanka from October 27 is another positive signal of the growing international confidence in Sri Lanka as a tourism and business destination. Alongside the increasing number of flights being introduced by major international airlines, this development reflects the steady expansion of the country’s tourism industry and broader economic recovery. Improved air connectivity not only boosts tourist arrivals but also strengthens trade, investment, and business links with global markets. As visitor numbers continue to rise, business/investment opportunities are expanding across sectors such as hospitality, real estate, logistics, infrastructure, renewable energy, information technology, and export-oriented manufacturing. For foreign businesses/investors, Sri Lanka’s strategic location in the Indian Ocean, growing consumer market, and ongoing efforts to attract international investment present compelling opportunities. Enhanced connectivity through new and expanded airline services is expected to further support business travel, facilitate partnerships, and position Sri Lanka as an increasingly attractive hub for regional commerce and investment.
