OSL take:
Sri Lanka’s power industry, especially the renewable energy generation sector, has become a hotspot for business/investment opportunities given the country’s commitment to increasing the overall power mix to reflect 70% renewable energy. Sri Lanka’s renewable energy target has thereby opened many business/investment opportunities in the country’s renewable energy sector as well as ancillary sectors. The expansion and profits recorded by businesses that are already in the renewable energy sector and the interest shown by foreign businesses in entering the sector are all indicative of the increasing business potential in the sector. With Sri Lanka poised to become a regional hub, the country’s power industry, especially the renewable energy sector, would see a steady growth to meet the increasing demand.
