Synogen launches Sri Lanka’s first comprehensive EV charging hub

Daily Mirror: In a landmark moment for Sri Lanka’s clean mobility transition, Synogen unveiled Synogen Evo, the country’s first comprehensive electric vehicle (EV) charging station designed to power four-wheelers, three-wheelers and two-wheelers (motorbikes) at a single location.

Strategically located at Independence Arcade, the flagship station marks a major milestone in building accessible, scalable and intelligent EV infrastructure across the island.

While EV adoption in Sri Lanka has steadily increased, infrastructure has often lagged behind, particularly for three-wheelers and two-wheelers, which represent a significant share of the country’s mobility mix. Synogen Evo bridges this critical gap by offering dedicated charging bays for electric cars (AC and fast DC options), purpose-built chargers for electric three-wheelers, motorbike charging docks designed for urban riders and delivery fleets and smart monitoring and load management powered by Synogen’s proprietary digital platform.

This integrated approach positions Synogen Evo as more than a charging station; it is a multi-segment mobility hub supporting Sri Lanka’s full spectrum of EV users.

OSL take:

The rising prices of fuel witnessed globally has given a push to EVs with a visible growth in the global EV industry. Sri Lanka too has witnessed a growth in the EV industry creating business opportunities in the promotion and sale of EVs in the country. However, apart from direct sales of EVs, there are emerging business/investment opportunities in the EV industry, especially in the development of infrastructure and supplementary infrastructure facilities required to back the expansion of the industry in Sri Lanka. The EV industry in Sri Lanka is therefore open for new opportunities that include the setting up of comprehensive EV charging hubs powered by sustainable energy sources and other developments around EV charging hubs as well as maintenance facilities. Given the increasing interest in EVs in Sri Lanka, foreign businesses/investors on the lookout for some supplementary businesses in the country, could look at the new and emerging opportunities in Sri Lanka’s EV industry and related sectors.
