Sri Lanka’s Yaden Labs exports liquid injectables

The Morning: Yaden Laboratories (Pvt) Ltd., a Sri Lankan pharmaceutical manufacturer operating out of the Katunayake Export Processing Zone, has exported its first batch of sterile liquid injectables to Zambia.

The pharmaceutical manufacturer has been operational since October 2022 and has been catering to the requirements of the Ministry of Health Sri Lanka.

The export consignment that had headed towards Zambia consisted of essential medicines, including Ketamine and Midazolam injections, used for anesthesia and sedation purposes.

Yaden Laboratories (Pvt) Ltd. Chairperson and Managing Director Shashimal Dissanayake said: “This is the pharmaceutical first-ever export of sterile formulation medicine made in Sri Lanka, which is exported to Zambia. In the upcoming weeks we are going to export to Somalia, and by November we will be exporting to Cambodia and Azerbaijan. We expect to export to many other countries in the near future as well.”

Yaden Laboratories (Pvt) Ltd. CEO Prakash Babu said: “I am proud to be a part of this remarkable milestone. After successfully having supplied about six million units of medicines in the Sri Lanka market, we’re thrilled to take our sterile formulation medicines to Zambia. This export success will open doors to new opportunities.”
