OSL take:
Sri Lanka’s tea industry is on a growth path with local authorities working for the tea produced by the country to regain the top slot enjoyed by Ceylon Tea in the international market in the past. Tea is also a key export commodity of the country with tea and tea-based products generating a considerable export revenue to Sri Lanka. Local authorities have also taken many steps to support the tea industry by way of promotions in foreign markets while also introducing incentive schemes to attract more businesses/investors to the tea industry. With the tea industry recording a steady growth, showing an increasing business potential, foreign businesses/investors could confidently explore the expanding business/investment opportunities in the industry, especially given the support received by the strong trade ties enjoyed by Sri Lanka with many foreign countries.
