Sri Lanka’s Softlogic Restaurants ranked among the Best Workplaces in Asia 2019
Softlogic Restaurants Pvt Ltd. of Sri Lanka, which is part of the Softlogic group of companies, and the master franchisee in Sri Lanka for global brands Burger King, Baskin-Robbins and Délifrance, has reportedly been ranked among the Best Workplaces in Asia 2019 in the Small & Medium Category by Great Place to Work.
The accolade could be considered a major endorsement of the Company’s human resources practices.
According to a local media report, this prestigious recognition is based on the results of a study of Best Workplaces in Sri Lanka in 2018, forwarded for benchmarking at a regional level, and places Softlogic Restaurants among an exclusive group of organisations in Asia that focus on creating and sustaining high-trust, high-integrity, and high-performing cultures for their people.
All Asia Award winners from Sri Lanka are to be recognised at the ‘Sri Lanka’s Best Workplaces 2019’ Awards Ceremony scheduled to be held in Colombo on 5th July 2019, the Softlogic has stated.
Softlogic Restaurants is the only chain of restaurants in Sri Lanka to have been honoured with this prestigious accolade, the report stated.
Softlogic Restaurants CEO Suresh Jayawardana has been quoted as saying, “We are naturally delighted to be ranked as one of the best workplaces not just in Sri Lanka but in Asia. A large part of an employee’s life is spent on the job hence it is important that the organisation is regarded as a home away from home and not just a workplace. We are very proud that the employees of Softlogic Restaurants regard the company as a great place to work.”
OSL take:
The accolade won by Sri Lanka’s Softlogic Restaurants is an indication of the high standards maintained by the country’s hospitality sector. Also, several Sri Lankan restaurants have ventured into international markets as well. Therefore, foreign businesses could explore opportunities of forming partnerships and joint ventures with local businesses in order to venture into the South Asian region.
