Sri Lankan government awards Singapore’s Vitol to supply petrol and diesel to refinery
Sri Lanka’s Government Information Department has reportedly announced that the Singapore unit of energy and commodities trader Vitol has been granted by the government of Sri Lanka a long-term contract to supply the state owned oil refiner and retailer with petrol and diesel.
The Cabinet of Ministers has reportedly decided to award Vitol Asia Pte Ltd. the deal to supply the country’s government diesel and petrol for the next eight months from 15 July 2019 till 14 March 2020, the Information Department has announced in a statement to the media.
Accordingly, the unit of Vitol, the world’s largest independent oil trader, will supply 420,000 barrels of diesel with a maximum sulphur content of 0.001, 1,040,000 barrels of diesel with a maximum sulphur content of 0.05 and 1,084,000 barrels of petrol.
